5-minute Caramel Pear Crumble

Inspired by a Fruit dessert from Kraft Foods website, I tweaked this recipe up a healthier notch (ditched the canned fruit and opted for the fresh ones). In the process, I substituted pears to peaches.

Ingredients:

2 Fresh peaches

1/4 cup caramel ice cream (for topping)

2 Fig Newtons chewy cookies chopped

Reduced fat canned whipped cream

Directions:

Removing the skin and seeds, quarter peaches

Microwave caramel ice cream until slightly melted

Drizzle with caramel ice cream topping

Top with crumbled cookies and whipped cream

you can also use bananas, strawberries, cherries, blueberries, apricots or a combination of any fruits mentioned, or instead of using Fig Newtons, you can use any kind of chocolate chip cookie if you feel like indulging or splurging for a nomnom dessert :D

Here's another similar recipe:

The 5 Minute Pear Crumble

Ingredients:

2 pears

4 wafers, crushed

Reduced fat canned whipped cream

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (adjust according to preference)

a handful of chopped nuts

Directions:

Cut the pears (no need to skin, remove seeds)

Sprinkle with wafer crumbs

Top with whip cream, cinnamon and chopped nuts

for this one, it's best to use pears (or apples) to complement the wafers and cinnamon but you can go crazy with any fruit you like :), or for choco-holics, substitute cinnamon powder with cocoa.
